I finally decided to give the Rooster BBQ Deli a try. I ordered the dinner of Ribs and Chicken. When I opened up the container, I saw it was only 7 bones (1/2 slab I’d guess) of baby back ribs. This just isn’t going to be enough food for a big eater like me. The ribs were a little tough. The sauce was too sweet. I should probably try their spicy. It was good though. I enjoyed them. The fried chicken was excellent. As was the slaw and the fries and the roll. Really, everything was good. For $20 though, I need to be filled up to justify the cost. I could see two people, that don’t eat that much, splitting this dinner and being really happy. If you’re not a HUGE eater like me, definitely give it a try. Everything I tried tasted really good. Ordering was simple. I called. Then I picked it up 20 minutes later. I liked the experience, and the food, so much, I’ll likely give a few sandwiches a try. I say give it a shot. Order ahead and take out. There really isn’t much seating.

BBQ chicken, fried chicken, and ribs are delicious. Fries are good too. It's a good place to call ahead and pick up. There is a very small seating area and it can get pretty warm and smoky. Fried chicken takes 20 minutes.

Fried chicken is tasty but greasy and rather salty. Baked beans are very sweet. Ribs were good and with a standard KC style bbq sauce.

Skip the chicken and go for the BBQ pork sandwich. Sandwich was perfectly smoked, tender & juicy. Chicken not very good at all.

Hands down the best chicken in St.Paul, maybe even the state. You can't go wrong with the bbq or the fried chicken. I get the hot bbq
